I've been slacking on posting blogs, obviously. I honestly forgot I had this... haha.. oops.
Well, my life has been pretty eventful lately. Between, work and school, church and choir mission trip, love and friends.
I've been at Pizza Hut for a year and a half as of May 1. There are times when I want to strangle my co-workers, and there are times when I voluntarily spend all day there. I guess you'll get that at any job, though.
School is getting close to be out! It's hard to believe that I'll be a senior next year. I've looked back on my life and growing up, and wow. What an accomplishment! From Kindergarten to the start of middle and high school, and pretty soon the start of a brand new chapter in my life: college. Freaky!
I've managed to maintain straight A's this semester. How? Yeah, I don't know either. The only things I have to worry about now are upcoming tests, projects due, and finals. Almost there!
I thank God for bringing me to Crossroads. It has truly been a blessing in my life. Today, I got back from our choir mission trip. God showed himself to each and every one of us this weekend!
Because of the Swine Flu, we almost had to have a plan B for our New Castle Correctional Facility venue. No visitors were allowed onto the site, but by the grace of our Father, the usually strict chapman said YES, ABSOLUTELY! We knew God planned for us to be there.
On our way to the prison, we had a couple downfalls. First, the second bus broke down at a nearby McDonald's. Our bus had already departed for the prison, not realizing what we left behind. We had to go all the way back and cram as many people as we could on one bus. Each tour bus seats 40 people. We had close to 80 on ONE bus! Many 2 seaters had 3 or 4 passengers, and the whole aisle was full of people standing! Victoria and I sat in a sink at the very back of the bus, next to the portapotty! Oh, and not to mention the drive was about an hour long.
It was a blessing in disguise though. While we were late to the prison, the set-up crew was already there. They got to spend an extra hour ministering.
Saturday, many of us got to use our talents in the kitchen and serve the homeless in Indianapolis lunch. It was done through the Wheeler Rescue Mission. I was the head dessert assembler. It was such a blessing to see everyone working together to cook a special and meaningful meal for the less fortunate. We sat with them, ate with them, and then we sang for them. Many were uplifted, some rebelled. (It was to be expected, though.) That night, we had a well-deserved dinner and spent some time for our testimonies. It touched me so much to be apart of something so great.
Sunday comes around. Our plan was to sing at the Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinnati, Ohio. Well, we got rained out. We cut our trip short and headed for home. It was a long bus ride, but we made it in time for the last service held at our church. Many of us were wearing our Flying Pig t shirts and most of us sat up front in a big group. It was such an experience to worship MORE with my choir family!
God has proven himself to me in so many ways. I love Him, and every morning I will wake up and plan to work for HIM.
